ROM-el brings contemporary FLASH ROM storage to vintage applications.
Bridging the gap between newer and mature ROM options/packaging, the 23128 ROM-el offers 512kbit (64kB) of Atmel FLASH ROM storage (AT49F512) in an easy to utilize MOS 23128/27128 DIP footprint. The unit can be configured for either 23128/27128, 23256/27256, or 27512 applications via surface mount jumpers on the unit. In addition, overflow addressing lines are available on the ROM-el to enable bank switching and other targeted ROM applications.
The 23128 ROM-el forms the basis for the MOS 23128/23256-based JiffyDOS replacement ROM overlays.
Note: ROM-el units cannot be programmed while in circuit. An adapter must be created to adapt the ROM-el pinout to that of a standard AT49F512 32pin IC and programmed in a standard EPROM/FLASH programmer.
